Irina Margareta Nistor: I want to take all the children from foster homes to the movies

Irina Margareta Nistor is a film critic, radio and television show producer, also having a prolific activity as a journalist and translator. However, few people know that Irina Margareta Nistor is also actively involved in volunteering activities in which she has long taken part out of her own will, and more recently as president of the Vodafone Romania Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Normally, she doesn’t like talking about the good deeds she does, but we managed to convince her to give us a few details about how she joined the Vodafone Romania Foundation’s team and about her activity within the organization.

Peditel and Otoscreen, two medical projects launched in Cluj

We are happy to announce two important medical projects that will contribute to the better health of children and newborns in Cluj. We are speaking about Peditel, the first telephonic service for emergency pediatric advice, and Otoscreen, a project through which four maternities will be endowed with high-end equipment to be used for hearing tests for newborns.

Dan Brad and the blind children from the Catharsis Braşov Association have proven that it’s indeed possible, as well as Cătălin Petrescu and the children from Conil Association who, in spite of their severe sight impairments, learn and succeed in playing musical instruments.

A fresh face for the Bucharest Blood Transfusion Centre

Vlad (32 years old), IT analyst for a multinational bank, has been a blood donor ever since 2007. At that time, he says, the Bucharest Blood Transfusion Centre looked awful, and the entire donation process, from verification and blood-work, to the donation itself, could have taken up to four hours. “Now it doesn’t take more than an hour”, Vlad says.
