Involved in my community: We launched a new financing program

Vodafone Romania Foundation launches a strategic program that supports education, health and social services are disadvantaged in villages and small towns in Romania.

The first stage of this program is represented by the pilot project „Involved in my community„, with funding of 149.518 Euro, in partnership with PACT, implying a financing round open for community projects in seven counties: Arges, Braila, Buzau, Dolj, Galati, Mehedinti and Olt.

Initiative groups, community organizations and local NGOs small communities up to 30.000 inhabitants, of the seven counties mentioned, can apply for funding up to 7.000 Euro per project.

“Through this strategic program we want to respond to local needs for education, health and social services in villages and small towns across the country. We want to help the people who live here both to improve their own living conditions as well as the conditions of disadvantaged groups in their communities. In the first step of this program, along with PACT, we want to increase the footprintof our involvement in the communities in the south part of the country. Later, we will expand graduallythe coverage of the program and go national ” said Angela Galeta, Director, Vodafone RomaniaFoundation.

„PACT Foundation and Vodafone Romania Foundation will work in those communities where there are a number of important needs and where the funding provided may have a significant impact. We believe in local potential and, especially, in the people in these communities who have ideas and energy and want to change the town they live in, but not necessarily know where to start or find other resources, „said Ruxandra Sasu, Executive Director of PACT.

How to apply

Projects submitted for funding must include a strong component of community involvement and to enroll in one of the three funding areas: education, health and social services. Duration of undertaking a project can be up to 7 months, range July 1st 2015-January 31 2016. Applicants will first send a cover letter, which shows the project idea up to date March 30, 2015.
