Motivation Vodafone, a most exceptional swimming competition

Yesterday we participated in an extremely special swimming contest, Motivation-Vodafone, with 27 children and youths with disabilities, at an annual event organised by the Motivation Romania and Vodafone Romania Foundations.

Swimmers, referees, volunteers, they all helped us exhibit the abilities of disabled people and the power of sport to bring people together, in order to accomplish beautiful things.

The contest was between teams made up of Vodafone Romania employees, Motivation Romania Foundation representatives – people with disabilities, such as people in wheelchairs, and athletes within the Romania Special Olympics.

Along with the contestants, we enjoyed the presence of two important natation champions, Anca Pătrăşcoiu and Carmen Bunaciu.

Even though the teams were ranked according to the total time achieved by the participants, all the contestants were awarded specially created diplomas, handed in everyone’s applause.

The contest took place at one of the pools inside the Pescariu Sports & Spa Club, a traditional partner for this competition.

In the 14 years since the Vodafone Romania Foundation has been supporting the Motivation Foundation, over 650 children with motor disabilities have received a personalized wheelchair.
