A RON 811,000 funding for five social projects through the “Good Deeds Fund” 2020/2021

Bucharest, 10 septembrie  2020 – Vodafone Romania Foundation announces the winners of the sixth edition of the “Good Deeds Fund” funding program through which it supports projects in the social services area, carried out by non-governmental organizations for the benefit of a disadvantaged social category (children, young people, adults from vulnerable backgrounds, people with disabilities, victims of domestic violence). The total amount of sponsorship offered by Vodafone Romania Foundation as part of this funding round is RON 811,000. The projects will be carried out between August 2020 – August 2021.

This year, 5 projects were designated to receive funding:

Ferentari Community Center, a project funded with RON 184,000 and carried out by the Carusel Association. This project provides for a program of integrated and sustainable services (social, medical, financial) for the people in the Bucharest neighborhood of Ferentari and its surroundings, who are facing extreme poverty and other associated vulnerabilities.

SiEuReusesc (extension and consolidation of the program), a project funded with RON 118,000 and carried out by the Association for Gender Equality and Freedom – A.L.E.G. This project aims to improve the quality of life of women victims of violence and their children.  By setting up support groups and local networks, victims are helped to overcome their trauma and lead independent lives. The project will be carried out in Cluj, Sibiu, Brașov and Bucharest.

Digitization of the management and neuromotor recovery process, a project financed with RON 170.000 and conducted by the Mihai Neșu Foundation. The project supports the beneficiaries and employees of the foundation by digitizing the processes of management and aeromotor recovery, which will enable to streamline the workflows, improve case management and increase the quality of life of children with neuromotor disabilities in Bihor County and surrounding localities.

It shouldn’t hurt to be a child, a project funded with RON 175,000 and carried out by the Hope & Homes for Children Foundation Romania. Through this project, HHC aims to prevent domestic violence among children from the counties of Brașov, Sibiu and Bihor, keep them safe in their biological or extended families, and prevent them from getting institutionalized.

Almost grown-up, a project funded with RON 164,000 and carried out by the Social Incubator Association. The project takes place in the counties of Prahova, Argeș and Dâmbovița and is aimed at institutionalized young people, whom it helps to integrate socially and professionally. Young people are given access to non-formal education programs, solutions for skills acquisition and increased long-term social mobility.

The “Good Deeds Fund” is a national program based on „call for proposals” funding. Since the program launch in 2013, Vodafone Romania Foundation has provided a total funding of approximately LEI 7 million for 35 projects carried out by 30 non-governmental organizations.

Vodafone Romania Foundation is a Romanian non-governmental organization, with charitable status, distinct and independent of the company’s commercial operations, established in 1998. In over 20 years of activity, Vodafone Romania Foundation has funded 1,168 programs conducted by 745 non-governmental organizations across the country, in the health, education, healthcare services industry. The projects had over 3 million beneficiaries – children, young people, elderly, physically, socially or economically disadvantaged people. So far, Vodafone Romania Foundation invested EUR 31 million in projects conducted by partner non-profit organizations.
